Our Story

Manuel first visited Mexico as a tourist in 2009 and experienced the country at its best. In 2014, after completing his training as a certified Mexican tour guide, he began sharing the fascinating history, culture, and warm hospitality of the Mexican people with his guests. In April 2018, he founded the travel agency Reisen & Tours Viajero Mexico (LLC).

With growing success, we entered our third year of business with optimism. However, the onset of the pandemic in March 2020 abruptly brought cultural tourism to a halt. Travel became nearly impossible due to lockdowns and strict hygiene regulations. Thanks to our variety of day trips, transfer services, and dedicated on-site support, we were able to get through this difficult time.

Today, guests are returning to book private, family, and combination trips, once again enchanted by the nature, culture, and magic of Mexico. The positive reviews on TripAdvisor, Google, and HolidayCheck confirm that we are on the right path.

Max Voggensperger

Max, an experienced tour guide and operator, has been a co-owner of VIAJERO MEXICO since 2021. With his extensive knowledge and experience, he plays a key role in the development and design of tours. Since the founding of the company, he has been responsible for the popular Hacienda tours. Max brings over 25 years of experience in the travel industry in Mexico and specializes in organizing tailor-made private, family, and small group trips, which he occasionally leads himself with great passion.

His career began after completing his education in architecture, design, and real estate management, which he pursued in Switzerland and Mexico. In 1996, he moved to Mexico, where he took on the management of cultural tours for a Latin American tour operator. During this time, he gained deep knowledge of the countries of Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, and Honduras, which he now shares with his travelers with expertise and humor. After becoming a certified Mexican tour guide, he began leading active and study tours for renowned tour operators from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. At the same time, he developed his own private and small group tours, offering travelers an in-depth insight into the region's cultures.

In 2002, Max took over the management of a hotel in the Celestun nature reserve and later at the Riviera Maya, where he spent over four years ensuring the well-being of guests before refocusing on his passion for travel organization. His extensive experience and dedication make him a valuable asset to VIAJERO-MEXICO and its clients.
